The dollar is down again Tuesday in New York, reversing day-earlier gains, as the market's growing sense of risk aversion is momentarily quelled. While investors remain cautious, an undramatic equity session in New York Monday and into Asia and Europe Tuesday saw risk aversion move to the back seat, cutting off repatriation flows to the dollar from riskier assets. That means gains for the low-yielding currencies, including the dollar, yen and Swiss franc, have been trimmed, while the high yielding and riskier Australian and New Zealand dollars, as well as emerging market currencies, have received a modest lift.
